I’m Back!!!~ Finally!

October 30th, 2005

I am back! Finally from US for 5 weeks, time really flies. reached Singapore yesterday morning. i think still having jet lag… last nite cant really sleep well, i will be tired later on..

Pict0078_4During the 5 weeks of training there, i went to quite a few places, like Manhattan in New York city, 2 museums- American Nature history Museum & Museum of Modern Art, took pictures of Status of Liberty (lost all the pics!! due to my itchy hand.. : X ), went to their Little Italy (A place selling alot of Italy food open-air, like a mini funfair), Chinatown (Very Chinatown, looks like mini Hongkong, alot of chinese speaking Cantonese there), Big shopping mall- Jersey garden, Woodbury Common Premiun outlet and lastly the casino- Atlantic city. Union city to take a bus to Jersey garden. Central Park, Big big park with green, red, yellow, brown leaves. Seeing little squirrel running about, People relaxing under the trees.

Pict0129 The museums are really big, can spend at least 4 hours there, walking and walking. Really need a good shoe to walk in US, alot of walking. The bus trip there is expensive, to and fro to New York City is USD 5.70. Weather there is cold, coldest weather is 7 degree Celsius. Food there is…… salty.. oily.. sweet.. how to lose weight like that?? haiz.. really put on weight coming back.. sad.. Working life style there is not as stressful as in Singapore. People laugh and work together. Time working there is flexible, normal time of working is from 9 to 5 but if you go office early, can go back early too. Nice rite? Maybe Asia office does not adopt this because people might make use of it?

Pict0015 I like my room~ very much! having a little kitchen to cook. Little tv, Little room, very cosy place~ Just enough to accommodate myself. See~ Me and Yuki outside the apartment. Homestead~~ on our way to the Museum.

This year, my birthday was celebrated there. Not much fun but the colleagues there sings birthday song for me and the other 2 birthday girls. They are my Japan colleagues, one having the same birth date as mine, the other before me. Sandy on 13th Oct and Kat on 14th Oct. So coincident! At night we (Makita san, Sandy, Kat, Aya, Angie, Patty, Raymond, Lichoo, May and Ornchaporn) went to Hoboken’s little Thai Restaurant, really very little. Only can accommodate around 30 person at most. Food there not bad, but abit sweet for some food.

Went to watch movie ‘Wallace and Gromit- Were Rabbit’. Ticket there is USD7 for weekdays. Quite a nice cartoon movie. Cute and funny! Big cinema but only less then 10 viewers!

Pict0099Night scenery in New York City! Busy busy road, alot of people walking and shopping. Streets selling hotdog buns, nuts (nice smelling but not really nice, too sweet), kababs. Went to take their subways. Very confusing track.. luckily have my colleagues around if not i will gone missing~ Very noisy. More like a train and its not stable at all compared to our MRT. Must grab handle there. The bus drivers there are very friendly. I think US is a country where they make things easier to the disabled person. They have a special place in a bus to put the wheelchair. The bus driver will stop and help the disabled person to onboard the bus first. I think Singapore will never see this kind of bus. Everybody is rushing in Singapore and drivers here are very impatient unlike in US. Really very very big difference in culture wise.

Masuda san went to US during the 1st week, he brought us to a chinese resturant- Li Yu Men (Koi Door). See our pics~Pict0011 Food not bad, and very big portion. Cant finish, ‘Tar Bao’ back to apartment for next day’s dinner. Very very expensive too! Around USD900+ for that dinner!

Pict0086Dim Sum restaurant!! Went there on a Sunday morning, very authentic Hong Kong style, alot of people, alot of food. Super Nice, see the picture! Yummy rite? I am drooling now too~~ hehe…

Chin Boon, Patrick, Yuki, Jeslyn and i went to 2 chinese restaurant to have our dinner. Its really nice. Hot and spicy food from Su Zhou. Like the feeling, cold weather with hot and spicy food.

Pict0142 People used to say moon are rounder in the other country. I do find it too! Even the sky is clearer and blue. weird… Same moon and same sky but how come it looks different?? See the Moon, i took it on a 15th Of Ninth Month (Lunar calander) Abit blur, because too cold, hand keeps shaking but able to see the big round moon.

That’s all, see ya people out there. Gathering gathering time!
